I'm trying to figure out if any one has this particular model?

I want to know what kind of low end power it has.... grunt, torque..... ?

I know I would need a second set of tires/wheels for trails... but I'm trying to find out if this engine is also suited to that. I know most 450's really are not. But I'm thinking this one might be different considering it has a much longer stroke.

Are you planning on using it for racing and trail riding? Just wondering why you wouldn't want the 525 for trail riding.

Of course I would like the 525 engine... but here are the things I'm looking at...

#1 - The front shocks on the 450-MXR get great reviews for their performance and full adjustability. The front shocks on the 525-S get terrible reviews. Shock upgrades can get costly.

#2 - While the tires on the MXR may not be ideal for trails, ground clearance is listed as the same... and the Razr MX tires should be pretty good tires compaired to the average stocker tires... worth keeping the tires and wheels around for the occasional trip to a track... or worth more if I want to sell them off. It's hard to tell what the tires might be like on the 525-S.

Anyways, those are the only real reasons I can come up with not to go with the 525.

I have had one since November... It is everything they say it is! Awesome power, incredibly light. I picked it over the 525 because it is lighter. Power is smooth, good bottom end. I swapped out the wheels and tires as soon as I picked it up so I never got to try them out. I have Hipers with GBC X-Rex tires. I am also a Polaris Sponsored Grass Roots team for 2009, great program really supporting us small guys. I think Polaris really did it right this time! My last Quad was an 06 TLD Predator, but the PRO Steering broke my wrist for the last time!!

Yeah, they seem nice.

I bet your '09 is even better than what I am looking at.
They don't look like Outlaws/Predators anymore.
They look more like a hotrod Phoenix... but it seems like the changes are more functional.

What size tires did you go up to?
How well does it resist stalling out in the tough sections?

There was a special edition 525S back in 08 that had the MXR shocks.

Oh, you are talking about that black LE model.
I figured it was just an LE for the black plastic.

I've never seen one of those for sale.

21 fronts, 20 rears, tireballs, Hiper single beadlock fronts, Dual beadlock rears..

I think they look like a cross between a KTM and a TRX 450.... They look kind of like everything else now, not quite as unique but that's OK it definately is not an old Polaris!! As for Stalling not bad at all, it likes the revs more than a 525 but I came from years of Honda CR 250r riding so I lik the revs and am used to riding like that.
Can't wait to see what it does in Georgia March 7th !!
