Listen to FTWFLH he speaks the truth, Once you learn how these Clutches work (Almost Impossible) then you can mover power around where you want it.

Default Sportsman 500HO clutch kit

i have a scrambler 500 and i put a cluth kit in it and i made a world of difference. i has a better low end and mid range now. i can climb, pull, race, and just trail ride with no problems at all. look up rick ritter at ritter cycle racing. all you have to do is tell him what you want to do and he knows exactly what you need. it only cost me like 70$. check him out

I feel like my sportsman is a lil lagging in the low end grunt as it is, high gear has a hard time sometimes climbin rock hills, up and over huge logs, etc. so i want that extra power, just lookin at the smartest way to go about gettin it if an exhaust doesnt do the trick
This is the exact same problem I'm having with my SP500. I have the same bike as you and I was wondering what you ended up doing with the clutching. I still have 26" but I upgraded to a wider tire (ITP Mudlite 26" XL). I thought I read in one of your other posts that you took off the EBS and you still have the kit. I need to get back some of that low end grunt!

Default part numbers?

At 60 MPH I still had 500-700 RPM to go till redline but it wouldnt pull the weight up to that redline, Polaris already has the Fuel Injected Models running 95 percent max with fuel Injection, Now the carbed Models you can do alot with, get a Slip on Muffler, Rejet the carb and Index your Plug, Do some other small Mods and youve picked up maybe 4 HP.
Could you please list the part numbers for these clutch mods? Or spring color?

Posts are originally 9 years old, these guys may not be around anymore. Plus one from 2011 wasn't answered either. Might be better to post your own thread on what you're wanting to do and you might get some updated results from current members.
