I think the application here is riding long trails with packing lots of extra gear if needed.

get me wrong,I like to buy things for my ATV, ( I'm not cheap )It will be way over 100.00 dollars just to buy one container ( 4gal ). well I'll stop crying about it, thanks for all the great info and web site's and any other info an site's would be great.

Over 400 miles with Kolpin bungeed to front rack. No leaks, no spills, no more money in wallet.

The nice thing about Kolpin is that it lies flat inside the rack extension and doesn't get in the way of the high beam or windshield.

Damb expensive but nice setup.

 

i found a couple of the koplins last year w/ thier mounts for $120. new for both so i bought them. never had a chance to use them yet but aweful nice to know thier there for my gas hog as caper pointed out lol.

 

I can't believe those things doubled in price. But a friend
told me, now the PARTS INDUSTRY is trying to make themselves
whole again with cut backs and less motor bikes sold.

Its a racket man! Cuz, street bikes sales were soaring when
gas prices sky rocketed. Cheaper to commute to work on a
bike than driving a car.

I keep looking at fuel packs but the price always makes me think twice. There aren't many times I need to carry extra gas anyway. When I do, I just put a regular gas can on the rear rack next to my cooler. I find it works better to use a ratchet tie-down strap instead of bungees on the 5-gallon gas can. The 2-1/2 gallon can stays put okay with bungees. I have to remember to put the spout inside the can so it doesn't get broken in half on a tree branch. I have a gas can without a spout because of that.
