ok Im know I have to change camshaft not sure what side of motor it comes out of.I belive the valves are set to .006 it this right its a 1996 polaris 500 sportmans.Do I have to worry about the timing chain guiges coming together should i block them open?If anyone has manual on this it would help a lot thanks. sorry for double post please remove one.

Cam removes from left side,jusr remove plate. Guides will stay where they are. Remove rocker arms and shafts,remove 3 bolts on cam sprocket ,pull chain and sprocket combo away from cam,and remove cam,sprocket and chain will just go down a little,but will stay in head. EASIER if you have cam index pin CENTER TOP of head before you remove sprocket,easier to retime.

so one more time not that I'm slow or anything lol if I'm on the quad I take the camshaft out the left side so I will have to take the water ports off that side not just plates and the vavles set to 006 thanks
