Paint touch ups
#1
Seems like every time I take the ATV out for some projects
I always catch an area that needs a little "touch-up".
So far I have used Black Rustoleum from Flat to Gloss to Hammered.
It seems that when it goes through some mud and then I wash it that
part I "touch up" comes off.
Yes I am talking about the rear tube bumper mainly and the front
brushguard, receiver hitch area etc.
Thoughts and opinions on using a better more durable product?

FYI, yes I have sanded the area prepped and cleaned it before these touch ups. I had let dry and re-coated with a 2nd to 3rd coat. It just seems after a little time w/few runs and some more washes (plain dish liquid soap with warm water) it starts vanishing away and I did not NO other cleaning solvents or care products used (recently started using Pledge on Fender plastic works great to get the mud stains out).
Thanks,

Since I opened this thing up to discussions, for those who recommend some kind of industrial
strength product, please know I do have asthma so anything that will WIPE my lungs out with
strong chemical fumes etc. etc. may be NOT desirable, LOL..LOL

Rick...my bud likes to use his machine like a dozer, he didn't like the look of his scratched, worn bumpers either. He took his bumpers and brush guard to the local shop that sprays bedliners. When they sprayed a truck they shot his stuff quick. Cost was $40. They look great and the coating is as tough as nails. He went with Linex instead of Rhino...the linex is stronger, not as plyable as Rhino.
This was a few yeas ago, his bumpers look great.

You can get the truck bed liner spray in the can from any auto parts store. I've used it on the racks and suspensions of my '03 Honda rubi and holds up alot better than the rustoleum( tried that too.). It cost about $8 per can and looks pretty good.

Good recommendation! One of my friends builds truck bumpers for fun and sprays them with linex. They look good and hold up very well. I will do this to my bumpers on my atv's too when it becomes necessary.
