Looking for a new(used) quad got a few questions
#1
I have been skimming Craigslist, the local trader papers, ebay ect. Looking for a used quad in the 250-400 range. I have notice ALOT of polaris trailblazers or trailbosses up for sale.
Seems almost a 1/4 of the quads I see for sale are trailboss/blazers ranging from 2000 up. Now I havent ever heard anything bad about these quads so I was wondering if there is a big reason why so many ppl would be getting rid of them?
most of them I have looked at was in great shape and really great price, almost seemed to good to be true and had me worried.
So please polaris owners give me your input on these quads.
thanks in advance

i know around my parts in NE wisconsin, on craigslist there are alot of quads on there,, and the smaller ones like the 250 - 335 sportsmans or magnums are pretty cheap... i have a few bookmarked.. but i bought my 99 sportsman 500 off craigslist for 2500 with a plow and sold the plow ( because i already have 1) for 200 on CL. i dont really like the trail blazers,... i like utility imo...
took my 500 out yesterday on the trails put 50 mi on.. nice little cruuzze.. cant get over how nice independent rear suspension is... sooo niceee..
good luck finding what you want

Maybe they have to ditch their toys because of the economy Or maybe their economic sitiation is good and they're going to upgrade. POPO is the largest manufacture of automatic quads so there is bound to be alot of used ones. If the supply is large then price goes down. Kinda like ford ranger pick-ups after their lease deal. Leased alot of them so when it can time to turn them in it flooded the market with used 2 year old units porice when waaaaaaay down. This is probably more to do with the economy. You can buy houses in Detriot for $500.00 the avg home there is only $7000.00. CRAZY. I hope people quit buying toyo, mitsu, niss, honda, etc. I was guilty of it too, now NO MORE.

i think the biggest issue w/ them if any would be the lack of power. thier good little bikes for sure but not the most powerful. imo.

nod, my son is growing out of his kfx90 which will be passed down the younger ones. And dont want to go to big and powerfull with him so I think im limiting it to a 400cc at the biggest.
so not terribly worried about the power so long as he can keep up with bigger bikes on the trials

The Trailblazer and Trailboss are basically chain driven machines with an automatic transmission. Simple as they come. There are older 2 stroke Trailblazers out there. I believe the modern one is a 330 4 stroke. Same idea with the Trailboss but with a more utility oriented body.
