Went for my first ride last night. It was a short one, too cold up here, and what I did notice was a humming /rubbing noise coming from the rear of the machine. Is this normal?? If it is, it will drive me nuts. Will it go away after riding for a while?? Was it just too cold for it?? Please help. Other wise, that sucker moves!!

 

Sounds more like the drive line making the noise. Goes away when i'm off the power and back when crusing.

 

Any ice or snow built up? That could cause it on a cold ride. If it looks like nothing is caught up in the wheels or by anything else that is spinning you might want the dealership to have a look at it.

 

No ice or snow. Makes the noise when on the power, nothing while coosting along.

 

Anybody else with an idea?

 

Does it do it on all surfaces? Is the Trans oil level normal? Is it low or high pitched? Does the pitch of the noise chage with difference in speed?

 

Levels are all good. Rode it on snow pack. Low pitched and does change with speed but goes away when off the power. Does any one else's make this noise??

 

Well, I guess I'll take it back to the dealer and get a Brute Force!! Thanks for all the help guys...

 

Take it back to your dealer and let them check it out. I have not noticed any type of odd noises on mine.
