My 05 700 is always in 4wd.Seen one of your posts where you said armature plate is warped.Even with the awd switch unplugged mine is still in 4wd.I have had the front diff apart twice and everything looks good and used polaris fluid. So is that front electro magnet charging the armature plate and making it stay in 4wd you think ? Thanks for any info.I would hate to take it to a dealer since I am very mechanically inclined and this has had me stumped.

sure no cracks in cage area as stendori mentioned again? If cage and spring, rollers ok,then only thing can think of off hand is still the armature plate????

everything looked fine. But what had me thinking that something was always magnetized was I accidently reversed the armature plate shim with the armature plate and i never got 4wd.That got me to thinking that something was always magnetized but could not prove it till reading it here.
