Does the 550 XP have a backup pullstart?
#7
The dealer told me it was an option on the XP, IDK if he meant the 550 I was buying or the 850 too? Seems like it would take alot to get an 850 or even an 800 going with a pull start. I don't see the point to have one when you have EFI. If you did not have the battery the fuel pump will not pump. The only instance I can see a benefit is if the starter was bad and your battery was good. All of my commercial lawn mowers don't even have backup recoils. I always have a set of jumpers and a jump pack with me anyhow. Always have a tow strap as well, for those that you can't get going. Moose ya thinking of something different????!!!

I have a backup pull start on my 2006 X2 500 EFI. I was just curious. If you had a backup on one of the bigger machines you'd have to have some form of compression release. I suppose they put it on just in case the starter goes.

Mine isn't too bad. The ATP is a little harder to pull start. I really haven't needed them but it's good to have them. A friend's 2002 Sportsman on the other hand was a real bear. I almost got a hernia.
