After riding a couple of hours yesterday in extremely muddy conditions, the electric start on my TrailBlazer stopped working. When I push it, nothing happens. There's not even a sound. The headlight still works when the key is turned and it starts up fine with the pull start. Any suggestions?

My '96 Trailblazer did the same thing only it was deep water that put my starter to sleep. I drained the water out of the little drain plug and let it dry out. It worked then. It could be that water/mud has gotten into your starter. How long has it sat since the problem? Any water inside the starter will rust it up and it will be dead. I have seen guys with new machines replace their starters due to water rusting them up. Good luck.

I just rebuilt my 96 trailblazer starter. check the drain plug on the starter, you have to pull the skid plate to get to it if that is not the problem check the wires on the silanoid by the batery. if that still does not work you may have to change the brushes inside the starter. Good Luck.

What parts did you have to order to do the starter? Was it easy?

The hardest part is getting it out of the bike. I had to replace the brush assembly $41.00 piece of cake once the starter is removed. Good Luck
