Help!!! New 525 XC-----No Keys-----
#1
This is very stupid!!! Purchased a brand new 2008 525 XC today. Got it home and no keys. Apparently, when I picked it up from the dealership today. I left the keys in the ignition after we loaded it up. I drove off and all the flapping around on the freeway ejected the keys. (its the only thing we can think of). Anyways, not only were the 2 keys on the ring, but also the credit card thing with the key code as well. And to top it all off, the dealership did not write down the keycode on the check list paper work. The dealership says that they have to order me a new ignition with 2 new keys. Of course that is going to take several days. Planned a big riding trip this weekend. Does anyone know of any other place the keycode would be? If I can find that the dealership can cut me new keys. Also, does anyone know how to easily bipass the ignition key to start it?

Even if you know the key number you still need another key of the same number in order to make a copy. You can not order a new key by the key number...
A new switch is likely your only option other than bypassing the switch. If your dealer doesn't have a switch in-stock and he has another machine(525 or 450) in stock and he is real helpful he could take one off another machine, sell it to you, and order a replacement for that machine.

Moved you other post on this as I don't think a 525 really qualifies as being in the kids atv section.
Have you tried calling a locksmith?
And going with JF's post, I'll delete any hot wiring instructions I see. While we'd all like to see you ride, we'd all also like to see our rides stay where we put them.
I think JF would know the pain more than anyone.

Just bring the ignition to a key smith and get a key made. I have done it on motorcycles a few times.

I definitely understand all of your concerns regarding hot wiring my quad. The dealership said they could cut other key, but they need the missing keycode number.</end quote></div>
If they have the blank, I think a locksmith is your best alternative.
BTW, welcome to the forums.
