fuel boiling

while riding at medium speed through woods,stopped and heard a boiling noise,opened gas cap fumes felt warm,and put ear to tank hole sounded as if were boiling,but cooled off quick,and quit,rode again for a minute,same thing again,bike runs great with no problems,any ideas?

someone else had a post awhile ago about boiling gas as well. i agree maybe a vent issue as i cant imagine that gas would be getting to 212 degrees boiling point w/out having more issues and i dont even think the bike would run. thats just my own thought.

pulled bike out by hand and when i stopped i heard the boiling noise,forgot that when the gas gauge quit,i never did get the plastic float out of tank,so when the gas shakes,the float rattles sounds like its boiling,dumb me

I remember the early 660 grizzly had that problem and Yamaha had a recall and added vented side panels and a heat shield between the top of the motor and bottom of the gas tank.
