choke problems

Default choke problems

i bought an old polaris trail boss 250 i can only get it to stay running with the choke on i turn the choke off then it dies if i leave the choke on i can ride it around and it runs finei cleaned out the carb replaced the fuel line and filter removed gas cap thought it might be vapor lock any info will be helpful

Double check that the pilot jet in the carb is not plugged and you can push a wire or small diameter drillbit through it.Spray carb cleaner around crank seals and engine base gasket while running to see if it revs up from an air leak.

agreed it sounds like a lack of fuel issue, so i would make sure you didnt miss any fuel passages and jets. use some compressed air if you have any. imo.

also make sure the needle clip didnt come off. My buddys 500 was doing the same thing it turned out the needle clip fell off so the needle wasnt moving
