Default Installing Polaris Winch. Final connection???

I have everything wired up but under the headlight there are 2 spots to connect the power lead to the switch. I am assuming this is there for dual winches? If not can someone tell me is it the right or left connection I want to plug in the power supply to?

Also would it hurt anything to put silicone over the connecting points on the solenoid?

Thanks
Rene

Default Installing Polaris Winch. Final connection???

On mine the dealer used the square connection to plug in my hand/thumb warmers into, so i used the other to control my winch. mine is a xp 550 though dont know if it is the same as yours. good luck

Default Installing Polaris Winch. Final connection???

hi. i used both plugs on mine. i ran one wire from each of the oem wires to my fuse block so if somethin would go wrong it wouldnt start the wheeler on fire or fry something. plus its easy for me to replace a fuse. i did one day look for a ground. thought the 2 white wires were a ground but there not. if you hook something to the 2 wite wires it wouldnt let me start the wheeler, and it also wouldnt show me the gear i was in on the speedo.

Default Installing Polaris Winch. Final connection???

Thanks everyone! I wasn't sure because it worked pluged into both of them but I never tried to start or check the gauges once it was pluged in. I was actually going to hire someone to put the winch on but Polaris has everything layed out and makes installing it pretty easy, besides taking off all the body parts.

Thanks again
Rene

you shouldnt even had to take any body parts off. ive put on over a dozen even on differnt brand wheelers and never had taken any body panels off. but hey as long as its on and working is all that matters. now go get stuck lol.

yeah I went a little crazy taking off body parts! I ended up taking off the front plastic that goes over the tank and front tires, my machine looks stripped right now!! lol. Oh well, live and learn.

Default Installing Polaris Winch. Final connection???

Well I finally got the first machine hooked up and put back together. Not too painful. I decided to start the second one right away tonight and it took me about 55 minutes to take the four wheeler apart and connect the winch and put everything back together. The only thing I am having problems with is getting the battery terminal reconnected with the second lead wire on the post of the battery so I gave up for the night! I did silicone the connecting posts on the solenoid. I don't know if that will help or hurt but I did it!
