I just bought a 2001 SP500 H.O. this past Oct. I had aprox 50hrs on the bike and out of the blue the left front A-arm broke in Jan of this year!!! Where did it break you might ask?? It broke right at the welds!!!! And what blows my mind is that the A-arm wasn't bent at all!!! It just broke at the welds. I think an A-arm should bend before it breaks at the weld!!!

I was not jumping it, nor did I hit anything for that matter when it happend, or even at all that day!! I had jumped it a little off some whoops during general trail riding weeks before. But nothing to speek of that should cause it to fail just cruzing down the trail.

It looked like the guy that was doing the welding that day didn't get good enough pentration in the weld. I don't know. The warrenty took care of it this time thank goodness.

Has this happened to anyone else????

 

He probably put that weld in about 3:55 friday afternoon,5 minutes before party time.

 

ask Dazed about this, he prabally knows who did the weld.
