I would be cautious about putting them in any type of enclosure or tying them down. If the quad is submerged or rolled, that would not be good. Make sure they have a clean getaway if needed.

X2

My lab started riding a couple years ago. She hardly ever runs along side anymore. Her hips hurt her too much for the long rides. My wife walks our trails alot and will take the dog. After about a half hour I'll ride out and the dog immediately jumps on with me leaving my wife to finish her walk alone. I guarantee the dog has logged 3x the amount of miles my wife has. She comes with me 95% of the time, even if around to the backyard. I just used plywood and a couple layers of carpet. She loves it.

I keep them in the Kennel so they do not chase the Jackrabbits, also where I ride in the Desert of Az. there is not much water, the roads are flat so not much chance of a roll over. They are not allowed when I do go hunting in rougher terrain.

It's great seeing all of the pictures. Keep 'em coming. I haven't built anything for my dog yet, but am getting ideas!

There is a company called ruff wear based here in Oregon that make "doggles". I used to have a pair for my wolf/husky. He looked cool in them.
I tried their web site and they don't carry them anymore but here is a link of a company that does.

I highly recommend eye protection for your dogs. Hanging out windows and everything else can be really bad on there eyes over time. How do yours feel after a lot of wind and dust in them?

I would LOVE to bring my two minature schnauzers for a ride on the beast. I'm sure they will love it, but I was thinking about making a little bed and strapping it to my front rack, that way I can keep an eye on them
