I put the fan override in too, though I bought a temp gauge from an autoparts store that I liked better than the one Quadovator offers. (My spedo is white and I wanted a white temp guage.)

As far as refilling the cooling system, it's not rocket science. After you've got everything back together, you fill the radiator up (cap off or loose) and start the machine. Once it warms up and the thermostat opens, you'll see the water level in the radiator go down. Just top it off again, repeat, repeat, etc. until it doesn't drop anymore. It also doesn't hurt to give the machine a couple bounces just to jar any bubbles up. On mine, when the fan kicks on, the water flow through the radiator is very noticeable.

 

I swapped mine. Didn't feel like getting a new tap.
Like the others have said, shake the machine, squeeze the lines, warm it up with the cap off/loose. It is really easy to get the air out.

 

I drilled & taped mine very easy takes minutes and when I removed the housing hardly any antifreeze came out I did not even need to top it up . Look at my pictures the gage is pictured there .

 

I really like the digital gage instead of the one that is included with the kit. I put the Quadovator kit on my bike a couple of weekends ago. The gage I originally got was not calibrated correctly and the light went out with in the first 15 min. of riding. I sent it back and got a replacement and it wasn't calibrated correctly either. I ended up having to adjust the gage to match the temp on the thermostat housing. I did this by getting an infrared heat gun and shooting the housing and reading what it said on the gage. Both gagaes were 40* off. The fan is supposed to kick on at about 190 and shut off around 180-185 or so correct? The gage was reading 230 before it was kicking on and shutting off at about 220.

 

I swapped mine as well.

I don't think I lost more than a few tablespoons of coolant at the most. I just put an equal amount of new coolant back into the overflow. Haven't had any issues.

 

And you can set it so it flashers and changes color when it nears the hot temperature that you set it at thus warning you that the beast is heating up . Its also way more accurate over the other one the other one your guessing at the exact temperature .
