Default Question for the XP riders

While riding yesterday I ran into a guy on a 550 XP. We got to talking about the changes in the chassis from the old SP, and I noticed his preloads were two notches above mine, all around. He had not adjusted them from the dealer settings. My 850 XP came dealer set at the lowest preloads all around. I'm curious now how anyone else's XP's came out of the dealership, as far as preload settings go. And has anyone played with them a bit. I'd like to tune out the low speed push without buying tires.... yet.

My 850 came on the lowest setting front and rear, I turned the front up two notches. Prior to turning it up it was pretty easy to bottom the front out when landing from a moderate jump.

Mine came from the dealer set at the bottom too,now that I can get out and really start riding I'm going to turn it up one or two notches on the front and maybe one on the back.

I just sent mine (I have the Non-XP Sportsman) all the way up in the rear after I added the
2inch HD springs on the front. You know everyone told me that I would lose all the plush feel etc. making it stiffer. I noticed just a tad difference though in the ride comfort. It is noticable now that it doesn't squat as bad in the rear. Keep in mind I am 350lbs (working on weight reduction, its a working in progress, LOL), so I believe doing this has helped with the center of gravity issues, not all the way though as I would like to lift the rear some and replace with EPI's or something but for now I will make do!

Cheers,

R'
