Default New owner questions on 2007 SP800EFI

When I was adding the switch for the work lights on my 2007 800 EFI and i cut the cable tie to get to the plug connector i discovered a 9V battery connector. My first thought was a battery back up for the Digital speedo info but when i disconnected the speedo to drill the plastic pod the info was retained except the clock.

Does anyone know if that is for the clock backup?

The other question i have is about the fuel line that runs up into the pod. It was not connected to anything but next to it was another hose with a t fitting on it with two filters. I connected it to one of the nipples and the engine runs just as good as it did before hooked it up.

Anyone know what that is for? I was thinking tank vent since it is EFI.

If I remember correctly it was for the techs building them at the factory to check the speedo or computer since they do it b4 it has the battery installed.

The 9 volt battery connection is for use when reflashing, checking out, turning off codes on machine, etc when using dealer digital wrench software on their computers. I keep a fresh 9 volt battery handy at all times!

Thanks for the info. Any idea on the fuel lines in the pod?

Just vent filters, also to help keep moisture out of lines.

make sure these vent lines are free from being pinched or blocked to prevent any issues as well.
