2008 Sportsman 400 lift?
#1
Hey guys, new to the forum. Thanks in advance or your help...
I came upon some 26 inch PXT tires that I would like to mount on my 2008 sportsman 400 (currently sitting on stock 24 inch tires). Anyone know if a 2 inch lift would make this possible, and if so, which kit might be best? My dealer said he didn't know of a lift kit for the midsize sportsman...
Also, would anyone admit to trimming your inside rear fender/foot rest to allow for more clearance? Definitely a last resort, but it has crossed my mind....
Thanks

Try Highlifter, Gorilla, or eBay. Should be a lift out there for your machine. If you don't see anything on their websites give them a call. A 2" lift should help. Is your wheeler clutched at all? If you plan on putting bigger tires that would be a must since you have limited power and not many performance add-ons that will give you significant gains. Worst case scenario you may have to part with the 400 and go a little bigger. You can get just about any lift/accessory on the 500's/bigger(and there's no replacement for displacement).

Thanks guys. Gonna go with a 2 inch lift I found on ebay and run the 26's...Planning to let the local dealer dealer do it, and put my 24's on my wife's sp300...gotta keep the lady happy, right?
Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.
