Oil filter question
What oil filter do you guys use? I read on a link where a purolator pure one was the absolute best oil filter out there as far as the filtering part. But since then purolator has issued a statement saying you should not use a pure one on a motorcycle or ATV because the oil pump on those engines may not be strong enough to pump the oil thru the filter because of the denseness of the filter, but instead to use their oil filters made specifically for motorcycles and atv's. The tester basically said that this was just purolator's way of just getting you to buy their "higher profit" oil filters which are made in china. I have a polaris filter on now and was going to go with the pure one but now I'm not sure. I want the best filter that I can get, which is according to the test, was the pure one, but don't want to take a chance either. Using Amsoil oil, may just go with their filter instead.

While doing the first oil change on my 2007 X2, I noticed a metallic 'sludge' in the bottom of the oil tank. I used an OEM filter for that first oil change. At the second oil change, I noticed the same 'sludge'. I replaced the OEM filter with a Mobil 1 (M1-110) and even used Mobil 1 oil. Last oil change - no 'sludge'. I don't run OEM filters (air or oil) on anything that I own. There are tons of more efficient filters out there. As far as which one is best, I think that's personal opinion.
