Angry Need help with handle bars locking

Please note the problem only happens on the road(i think)

i own a 04 polaris scrambler 500

to get to the trails we have to go around 2 minutes on a main road to get there...so needles to say we have to go fast...now i noticed twice the handle bars lock up and it makes a hard left turn and runs me off the road if i cant stop in time..its very scary and dangerous (not good at spelling)....i have not tried on the trails or nothing to scared it will lock and i will hit a tree.it has happened in awd and without being in awd.i bought it used from tom clark's dealership it is sold "as is" i took it back within 24 hrs to get it checked and they wanted 600$ for a warranty...im in debt buying the actual quad...so i cant afford a warranty.if someone has experianced this before i would greatly appreciate if you can try and help diagnose this problem so i can get it fixed without being scared of going on the road...i have to go slow..like 10-20 mph for it not to lock..i risk getting caught.thank you in advanced for helping

i think you should try the armature plate... these are pieces in your hubs that engage and disengage the hubs in awd... and if one is worse than the other it will pull... in awd.. if it dont in 2wd.. then that could be it... but if it still does do it in 2wd.. idk then.. somewhere to start...

Change your hub fluids first, fresh fluid and correct amount can cure it . It happens to me the odd time and if i ride in reverse for a few yards while turning the handle bars it disengages the locked up wheel.

Yes sounds like a hub kicking in on one side................

Some guys that have the GREEN slime in their tires may have issues at higher speeds also......Most of the time it will be just a wobble or balance issue though......Caper......

Default scrambler

i have a 2000 scrambler 500 4x4, i had the exact same problem, check your cv joints could be bad, mine was locking up and sent me off the road once. if your cv boots are torn replace them and repack the joint with grease or replace the whole joint if needed.

I have to agree with 200es. I had a cv joint disentegrate which also destroyed one of my front shafts and it caused my machine to pull violently to the side when it bound up.
