Default Cracked A Arm

Bent and cracked my lower control arms on my new 850! Came into a ditch with the wheel cocked left and it jarred the quad. Didn't think it was to bad until I got her on some hardpack and she was all over the place. Possible a bent spindle also. At the dealer right now to see if warrantee will take care of it since its a new suspension.

Sorry to hear about that. Do you think you hit the ditch going to fast? Do you think a different ATV would have had the same problem?

good luck with the dealer i had the same problem with my xp 850 only mine was alot more damaged they said polaris would not cover the repairs so i traded it in for an 08 sp800 mine was the lower ball joint let go and everything else followed dont get me wrong i loved the xp it was a dam nice machine i just think polaris has some work to do to the front end of the xp lineup and i refuse to pay for that damage

850 TB they should cover it. Same thing happened to me a little over amonth ago.
They replaced every thing that was broke for free. (a-arm,ball joint, boot)
That sucks XP's should handle more abuse than the regular SP's.
I still smell recall! Let me know if they take care of it? They replaced it with the same style A-arm that was on it. I hope they come out with a fix soon. Because some ones going to get hurt. Make sure your dealer pushs the issue with polaris.
Mine was left side bottom too. Good luck.

WOW, I would be changing A-arms every other day if thats all it took to bend one.

Yea, this is not good... not good at all. It will probably take somebody getting hurt (or worse) for Polaris to quit writing all this stuff off as "driver abuse".

I had an A arm break also on my 2008 700X2 come to find out it was a defective weld. It was not welded 360 . It was covered!!!!! have the dealer check out. I hate to say but I think "some" dealers make the call and never try to get Polaris invalved.

I couldn't agree more. However...as a concerned Owner...I suggest filing a complaint with the NHTSA. By doing so...you will sound an alarm...and maybe then Polaris gets a recall going. It's not to give Polaris a black eye...but to help if a design problem is the issue. As I always say, "Safety First!".

IVOQ - File a Complaint

Sounds like a good suggestion.
