sportsman 300
we have a sportsman 300 for my 11 yr old son, have been very pleased with it so far Seems well balanced, decent power, not the fastest takeoff(but thats a good thing with him) ,good braking We do mostly woods riding, also took it to Hatfield-McCoy trails last Nov. no problems. Does have several suspension grease zerks to maintain

Bought a 06 Hawkeye new....love it. Not to quick or powerful to endanger my 13 yr son as he learns. We have a very aggressive landscape around the house here in the TX hill country, and it does very well with it. Only mod was the addition of an oil cooler because of the summer heat and allowing it to idle while working around the yard.

Besides the new model bugs have you had any problems in the 2200 miles? I have less than 300 miles on mine changed the tranny fluid and front hub. Thanks Ken.......[/quote]
Only prob ive had recently (last year) was broken rear suspention mounts..originaly (06 model) the front suspention mounts on the rear arms broke off of frame. I dont know when this problem was corrected in later models, however when my new rear sub frame came in the mounts were re-enforced..no problems since !! truly do like my Hawk!! going to post some pics ..if i can figure out how. Its just stock right now...but have alot of ideas!!

I had one and loved it when it was running right. (New Model Bugs) Traded it for my Sportsman but cant say anything I didnt like about it when it was running good. I liked it for it's size it was way easier for getting through the woods making new trails. Also liked the idea that my dad, or wife would be able to climb out from under it in case of an accident. I may still buy one of the 400s in the future.
