I think the rzr is begging for the new 850 or a 1000 cc engine.

The only rumor I have heard, which is from a usually reliable source, is that either this year or next Polaris will move away from the current CVT design on their large ATVs and move to an automatic trans of some sort. Basically he said this was the last year for the current CVT design.

He's been a pretty reliable source of information in the past. I guess we'll see in a few weeks or next year.

That's actually very interesting. There've been rumors of a new tranny for a few years now. With the motors now turned lengthwise w/ the quad, the large, heavy belt drive cvts, although reliable, don't make alot of sense, they also take up alot of room. Maybe Polaris is coming out w/some version of this:

WARKO - The CVT by Antonio Rondinelli - WARKO's working principle

It's a CVT w/no belt, only about a foot by a foot square. It'd be cool to see, would save alot of space and weight.

A quote from the latest Polaris earnings statement...
“Next week we will be unveiling our model year 2010 products to our dealers at our annual dealer meeting. While many of our competitors appear to be pulling back on new product introductions for the upcoming model year, we continue to invest in our future and have exciting new off-road vehicles and motorcycles that will be announced....

Doesn't really tell much though..lol..exciting to them might not be so exciting to us..lol

The RZR with an 850 or bigger motor would be awesome and an XP 850 X-2 would be great but how about an 850 Outlaw? That would be a kick a$$ machine! LOL!!!!
