Default Need Help with 1995 425 Magnum

A friend of mine has this bike and it is at
a dealer, they can't figure out what's wrong with it.
It will start up and idle fine, as soon as you hit the throttle
it stalls, they have the air cleaner off and you can reach
in the carb and move the slide up by hand and it runs
fine. Is there any kind of a throttle safety like a
snowmoblie, or what could be wrong?
The dealer cannot figure it out.
Thanks,
van

i have a 96 425 and my problem was very similar. crank up great and idle fine but as soon as i got down on it are put any strain on it, it would bog down. started seeing on here that someone removed there airfilter box and ran fine, and removed the sponge filter. i removed my sponge filter and it runs great now, no more bogging down as far i as i can tell, i have just test it around my yard and have not had a chance to get it out on the trails are the mud. maybe something worth looking into.

Default good luck

Good luck and please please let me know if you figure it out. I have been fighting this since Dec 2007. I have gone over almost every inch of this bike and cant figure it out. Most people will tell you that its your camshaft but mine is within tolerance and I have read of many people who have replaced them and it didnt fix it. Mine starts up perfect, idles perfect, but as soon as you get on the gas or apply a load, the motor just falls on its face, backfires through carb and eventually fouls the plug. I have changed fuel pump, all parts of the carb(note needle jet and needle seat), verified my flywheel key was not sheared, checked ETC, double checked electrical, triple checked camshaft, and triple checked my valve clearance and god knows how many other things i did at no avail. Keep me updated.

These are vacuum operated carbs verify the operation of the diaphragm on the top of the carb.
