Default Sportsman EBS

Is there a way to adjust the engine braking setup on the sportsmans? I have an '05 500 and put in a complete clutch kit and new belt along with my bigger Dirt Devil tires, she picks up a lot quicker, but when i let off the gas the nose dives down from the engine braking, id like to get rid of that

Thought I saw a similar post on here but can't remember. Anyway, you can look in to picking up a AWD switch for an 09 SP which gives you the option of 4x4 with or without the active descent control.

ads and ebs are two totally different braking systems.

as far as i know there is not a way to change the ebs system unless you buy a non-ebs drive clutch

Eggenz7 is correct, you have to use the non ebs clutch, if you pulled your primary apart, you will notice that the middle collar only moves in one direction, and has roller bearing on the inside

You might be able to trade someone who bought a non ebs quad and now would like to have ebs . I myself don't have ebs I like it free wheeling when I let off the gas and I'm still on the original brake pads with 3400 miles on the machine .

what makes an ebs is a oneway bushing inthe primary clutch. some of the non ebs models take a differnt belt as well. i think some clutch kits may increase or decrease the ebs on these but cant be 100% sure. read something about it a long time ago.

You can somewhat make your non EBS bike act like it has EBS just put it in low and burp the throttle keeping the belt tight thus slowing you down . I go down large hills this way and will be stopped at the bottom without once touching my brakes . Maybe thats why after 3400 miles my pads are still good . Its easy to do just have to get the technique down .
