Default Clutch Issues, Is This Right?

Hi, I have a 2004.5 SP 500 with 300hrs on it and 1800 miles. The machine at idle wants to slow down from 1150rpm to 950rpm and you can tell that it wants to slowly jerk ahead.....I put it in gear and it lurches ahead some then stops...has new belt....motor mounts look good....Does the picture of the primary clutch look right? it seems that the outer sheeve of the clutch is not going all the way out causing it to grab the belt more then it should at idle.......?.....can not pull out by hand the rest of the way either....what do you think???

does it have EBS on it? if so i would suspect the oneway clutch is holding onto the belt and not letting go when its supposed to. if you cant pull the outer sheave past that then its sitting where its supposed to i believe. normally when one starts to hang you can pop it back to its natural spot.

the easiest way to check would be to look at the weights or even the spider ramps where the buttons slide to check the where marks to see if its going back to the normal spot to where it has been. imo it is right the way it is as one on my wheelers did that. w/ the belt off, check the one way bushing in the center of the primary to see if it moves and only one direction.

You want to replace the two disposable bushings in the primary clutch, they are $10 for the two of them, should cure all

Checked to one way clutch, it turns one way and not the other like it should. it takes 2 hands to turn it though, is that right?? you can do it with one hand but it is stiff to turn. When you rev it in N it pulls the sheeve in ok but when it goes back out it kind of jerks back to open again, not too smooth.

you should be able to turn the bushing w/ your fingers. if its fection (jerking) going back out something is wrong or worn to the point where its catching.

Now, is there any way to make a homade clutch puller by buying the parts at a hardware store??? I dont want to pay 25 dollars or better for one.....
Thanks again.

i belave a 3/4" fine thread bolt/treaded rod w/ 2 nuts on it will work. i remember turning my one way bushing w/ my fingers but it wont spin freely. you could just take the center bolt and the 6 bolts on the cover off w/out taking the clutch off the bike if you had to.
