I modified a snowmobile clutch puller to get it off. It worked though! Now to get a better look with it off the machine.

that gap should not be there. it looks to me like your primary spring is possibly broken and not providing the pressure it needs to push that sheave all the way out to that washer.

Need a clutch puller to remove from crank, then need special tools to take the clutch apart to replace the ebs washers, I bet thats the problem.

Should be the two fiber bushings on the EBS primary, they are compressed and or destroyed. If you have a large vise, or a couple of 8" C Clamps, you can get the cover and spring off, but will need a a Spider puller

Thanks guys.....I just read this after i put all back together!......So you think that space should not be there? when i had it on the bench I could push in the outer sheeve all the way down, that is with putting some weight on it....it sounds metal on metal when it comes back out like that is all the farther it should go....I just cleaned the clutch real good with carb cleaner and blew it out.....LOTs of dust came out of there....I am going to run it now and see if i have the same problem.....BTW the blue primary spring looked good....did not see any breakes in it at all.....I may just have to bring the clutch to the dealer if cleaning the clutch does not fix the problem....thanks agian....
