i ride a lot of mountain trails and do the occational hairscramble ...ive alrdy had a 400ex and z400 and want more power but cant afford a 450 ...is the predator faster then the z400 and does it handel better?

 

The predator is faster than the 400, and rides much smoother. However it is heavier. I have an 04 tld (troy lee edition) pedator that i picked up cheap and i have no problems keeping up with my buddies on their 450's.

 

The power is their you may just have to tune to what your riding. Great suspension, and handling. Excellent choice in my opinion!

 

I've had a z400 and 660 raptor. I'm on my second preddy, it is much faster than the others after mods. The key to perking up the preddy is to rip out the old air intake and replace with a new aluminum box like that from UM Racing. The air intake is definetely the weak point of the predator. It's just flat weird! Of course, add a full exhaust and jet appropriately and you will be extremely pleased! My 07 TLD scoots. Not the fastest atv out there, but it is certainly fun and didn't cost as much as say a KTM! LOL! The suspension is much better than the others, too!

BTW, I ride wooded trails, sand, whatever. It is great for all around, imo!
