Underpowered 850 XP???

You guys are not hoping for to much maybe? I rode a 2003 800cc twin Suzuki Marauder street bike and it only weights 465lb and could only hit the high 90s and that is on a flat paved freeway.
You would think a 700lb 850 twin ATV with 4 balloon tires and on a dirt road would be alot slower.

I have not had it WOT in a while. Have not had the open area to open it up. I will over this weekend so I will see if it is any better. I will be playing at over 9000'. I know altitude will have some affect but I expect a little more top end. It does get to 40+ really fast. It is just the top end that seems out of line with what other seem to be getting.

I haven't had the throttle at max on my 850 yet but I have had it up to 64mph thus far. I test drove a 550 and I maxed out about 65mph. Neither of these speeds were taken from a GPS, just the speedometer itself. Also both machines were stock with myself and gear totaling 220-240 lbs.

Ya I think I'll run 1 more tank of gas through it, the break in period should be over by then and the computer should allow more power...at least thats what my dealer tells me...
