Default Underpowered 850 XP???

I just purchased my XP 850, I have about 100 miles on it, it seems very underpowered to me, I revs out at 7100rpm... and does about 61-65mph, does the computer limit the engine for a break-in period?

that seems pretty slow in the speed department.

I get about the same on mine. I have just hit 20 hours and I top off at around 60. I do live in Colorado at 5600' and weight just under 250#'s. The engine feels like it has just started to loosen up some. I keep pushing for more and my wife keeps getting on me about how fast do you want to go on that thing

Mine will do low to mid 70's and I go 250#. Just over 90 miles on mine. My buddies will go just a bit faster than mine (and he runs around 325#), but not enough to make me think mine is underperforming. His also has 70 more miles on his than mine.

Gotta do better than that, my 500 Touring will do 60+, I'm about 230# but carry about 70 # of gas and tools.

The computer does have a rev limiter, but it doesn't specifically have one for break in period, and then change to a different limit.

Follow through with the "correct" break in process and see what happens. However, if that's all it will do after the break in period, then something is wrong. Although, I'm sure the dealer will tell you it's normal.

Good luck

it maybe because of the break in, but big differnce between low 60's and 70's in speed to gain after break in. imo

Drive it like you stole it every time out. By 150 miles it will go faster. If not, maybe you just have a bad belt.

I have been told these 850's should do about 75-80mph, my mid-range pull is awesome, but it max's out at 63mph... it just seems really sluggish to me...
