Default Help! Polaris reverse override...

I have a 2004 Polaris 600 and am looking for the reverse mod. I know that the reverse mod(s) are listed at the begining of this post (Reverse override bypass/newer sportsmans ), but it doesn't seem to cover my 2004. It seems to skip from 2002-03 and then to 2005-2008.

The following connections worked on my 2002 700 but are different (And will not work) on my 2004 600...
Relay terminal #30 connects to Polaris brown wire
Relay terminal #87 connects to Polaris wire gray/orange
Relay terminal #86 connects to Polaris wire red/white
Relay terminal #85 connects to Polaris wire purple.

I want to be able to automate the reverse mod (In AWD only) without rigged up switches. I have relays and some skills...

The wife and I are goning on a trip this weekend and I would like to have this done if possible.

Can the mod be done in the Headlight Pod only? If so, can you tell me how?
Thanks!

Default 2004 Polaris reverse mod...

I have the same wiring as your 05' I think, but I do not want an manual switch to toggle. Is there a way to have it switch automatically (With a relay) through the headlight pod?

thanks. i try! i should know how to do wire diagrams by now. iv been doing them for 4yrs now. by that i mean when i worked on police cars for a bit over 4yrs and i drew up relay diagrams for pretty much everything from the 06-09 impala taillight flashers, to siren and brakelight kills so if i needed it, it was there, rather then try to figure it out all over again. iv still got all the diagrams too. but its always better to follow a picture then try and describe how to wire it. this way it pretty much done cept find the wire and hook it up.

i should have also added. this wont work on the 05 or so newer ones becuse of the resistor pack that the ground signal goes though. then goes to the speedo. if you use this it wont work and will make things not work. so if you have a resistor pack. dont use this. iv gota work on my auto reverse lights. and am still trying to figure out how im gona get it to work. i have an idea. but i havent really tryed lately. will post an update.

Thanks for the help, your diagram is cool, but the diagram that you posted will work on my 2002-03, but during 2004.5 they changed the wiring to be the same as a 2005. I think I have an idea solution, but if anyone has doone this yet, please feel free to post, thanks again!

Default Override

Unless someone else has figured it out you will have to go with a toggle which is pretty easy. Pigtail a wire off the orange/white from the 16 pin harness in the pod and the brown from your accessory plug. Hook them to a toggle or rocker switch and you're set. Switch on for full power in AWD/reverse and off to use the yellow button to scroll. All the relay diagrams that I have found won't work because it takes away the scroll function on the speedo.
