03 Trailblazer 250 Starter not working
my gfs trailblazer 250s electric start never worked ever since we bought the thing, fired up good with pullstart so i never really bothered much, but i figured id better try and fix it, you turn the key all it does is click, relay is good and power goes to the starter, good contacts and all so basically seems like its locked up, which doesnt suprise me since its located at the bottom of the engine and we all know every likes to go in deep mud and water with a polaris, can any1 tell me if this is common? does it just need cleaned up maybe? and also if somebody could tell me how to take it off, i looked at it briefly and seems like you gotta remove the recoil start off to get to it, thanks.

its not bad, i said theres power going to the wire at the starter, you can take a testlight and take it to the end of the cable at the starter and its got power, so the starter is locked up but its only an 03 i cant imagine that this new of a bike has a worn out starter, i figured maybe this is a common prob on these, and that just water/moisture got inside and locked it up.

ops. sorry. 3am here and i m getting tired. lol but guessing you bought it used. unless the prior owner didnt use it. or it sat with water in the starter and rusted. i mean i dont know. but i had a 2000 sportsman never had an issue with the starter. did you take like a block of wood and hit it to see if it atemp to turn over. if not take it off and check it out. or quessing that a wire came off on the inside.

yes the design of those motors is very poor in that retrospect. generally the brushes tend to get stuck and will not make the starter turnover. they are easy to rebuild/clean if needed. can buy the rebuilt kit on ebay for about 20 bucks.
i would try cleaning it first then bench test it to see if it will turn over

so those other 2 bolts are kinda like extra support bolts or something? and im assuming when you take those out they wont line back up to be able to get them fastened back in without screwing around with clutchside?
