Smoked Brake Light
#1
I got the idea to smoke the brake light on my Sportsman today, had a free after noon so I went at it. Looks pretty good, and was a fun project.
Removed the lens, cleaned it in a little simple green, dried and used VHT Niteshade smoking spray, did about 5 light layers with 15 - 30 minute intervals, the darkness started to appear around the 4th and 5th layer. After letting it dry for a final 30 minutes I cleaned it with Meguiars Ultimate Compound, then some Meguiars PlastX, and polished it twice with Meguiars Deep Crystal polish, and I ended it with two layers of Meguiars gold class wax.
Since its not a car, i'm not worried about it being too dark. I think it came out very very well. Heres some photos.

Un-smoked

This was after the 4th layer

5th layer, compounded, plastX, polished and waxed, all ready to go.

Re-installed.

Brake Light, which still shines through quite well.
