u might beable to drill a center hole in the bolt. and get an easy out to get it out. or see if you can get something to see if its lose enought to turn it out with a screw driver or something.

If you don't have a drill press, I'd recommend finding one or taking it and having it drilled out. Those carriers aren't cheap and they are aluminum and it's rather easy to screw up the threads. If nothing else, take it off and put it on a good, sturdy flat surface.

This was a problem in the 2002 Sportsmans, I know. Make sure you put grade 8 bolts back in it. I got mine at the dealer but I've heard you can get them at Lowes. If you're not sure they are grade 8, you might wanna go ahead and change em all. It's a cheap fix.

thanks for the advice guys. I have never had to deal with anything like this before. At least not with an aluminum case. I am gonna try the easy out trick and hopefully that works.

so I just drilled a hole in the center of the bolt (all the way through) and drove in a 3/16" EZ-OUT.... It snapped so now I got the EZ-OUT stuck in the hole!!!! I had to walk away for a few minneutes so I didn't start throwing tools. That's how frustrated I am

so I finnaly got it out and a new bolt in!!! it ended up costing me $3.88 to fix. That is the only thing I have ever had to replace on my sportsman. Not bad considering it has 2025 miles on it!!!
