My dealer said that the reflash justs speeds up the already high idle to smooth it out. 1650 is high enough for me and if i remember right it would be bumped to 1750 or 1800 rpm.

Can’t decide whether to do the update or not, I really don’t want it to idle at 1800 that’s too fast for me. It idles ok now at 1650 so will just levee it tell I hear something different.

Seems like they are covering up a problem rather than fixing it if they have to run the idle that far up to smooth it out (1800 rpm). Thats a joke.

I picked up my 550 XP today and my dealer had already flashed it. He also mentioned that there is a procedure to calibrate it for the altitude you are riding at by cyling the key switch on and off a particular # of times. I'll have to look at the paperwork. I can't remember how many times.
