Modded 98 Scrambler 400 bogging?
#21
Well, the springs and weights are on order, the carb is jetted with 165 main, EEH needle, and 35 pilot. If this doesn't do it I'm gonna pull my hair out!
Thanks for the help, I'll let you know how it goes.

Here's the big question for yah today, are you lookin' to blow the motor with that 165 main jet or are you at like 10,000 ft on the elevation chart? I have OEM manual, and no where is a 165 main jet safe even at 9000 ft. They come stock around 230 on the mains, and I had 3 of them Scrammy's and when I went to Colorado-Tigers Pass, sure down to a 170, but I was at 12000 ft

????
It has a Keihen PWK 39mm carb if that makes a difference. Darryl at HPD and a local guy with a BADA$$ built from scratch scrambler 400 both said "165.....168 at the most" with a 35 pilot?????? Are the jetting #'s different in a stock carb than in a PWK?
I'm working on getting the S55's and a brown primary (is that a polaris spring? if so what is it out off?) My shop won't give me parts if I say brown primary......they'll want a year and quad that it was stock in.
Thanks for scaring me.
