2000 Polaris 500 grinding

Default 2000 Polaris 500 grinding

My four wheeler wont go in any gear. Be for this happened it would grind real bad it wasn't idoling high i would have to cut the bike off then put it in gear then start it if anyone has any ideas let me know pls. Thanks

If can only put in gear with the engine off then either the idle too high or clutch creeping(pressure on the rear clutch at transmission) causing the problem.Try idling down first and see if helps. Just turn the carb idle adjust screw down a little and see if it helps first,if not then may have to check clutch /belt alignment out! Good luck OPT

what about the fiber washer in the drive clutch. seems like ive heard of folx having problems with those washers going out and keeping the clutches spinning not allowing any gear change. just my 2 cents...
