Exclamation 94 Polaris 400 is dead!!

Question.......i ran the oil out of my 400 (i know,STUPID) but anyway,my light went out and i was always using the dummy light to know when to fill it up w/ oil and apparently.....the (DUMMY) light quit and it ran out of oil (2 stroke btw for those who wondered) my question is can i get by with just a piston and rings set or did it mess it up too much for just a piston kit?? I figure i might also have to replace the sleeve but i,m hoping not!! Gimme some info,i'm ready to get it back on the dirt!

The crank is oiled by that also. Who knows the extent of the damage.

You might get lucky and just need the top end, but maybe not. Sometimes the lower end will seem ok and then go out soon ater you fix the top and get it running again.

BTW.......If you decide its dead, and ready to be retired, I do need some parts!!!

thats why they put a dipstick on it... the dummy lite was nicknamed that for just that reason... sorry dude... but how long did you run it? untill it ceased? either way complete tear down to inspect the crank bearing for debri from the piston/ rings..... open you wallet its gonna hurt a bit....

no dipstick on a 2 stroke oil resevoir, its easy enough to look in it. pull the jug and inspect it youmight be lucky.
