Carb tear down and cleaning.
#1
Anyone out there have some good detailed instructions on the tear down and cleaning of a carb on a 2004 sportsman 600 twin? Ive never ever in my life touched a carb and this will be a first for me and would like to make sure it goes smoothly if I can. I just want to give it a good cleaning.

Here is your carb,

The main things to clean are all passages with a wire, and Main jet #11, choke plunger #46 Pilot jet #27 and pilot air jet is #31 I think.
This is instructions for a Slide carb but it still tells you how to clean your 4 main parts just follow step 5 and down.

a little advice:
TAKE YOUR TIME!!!
also, lay an old towel across your work bench, that way when you take it apart, if something happens to fall out, the towel will catch it. try to remember how you took everything out and be sure to tighten everything when you put it back together. good luck-PB500

You do not have to tear the carb apart to clean. Drop bowl, float, jet and spray all passages with cab cleaner followed by presurized air.
Take yor time and work in a clean , clear area so part accountability is easy.
