Clanking in drivetrain of polaris 325/330 trail boss and trail blazer 250
Thought I would ask the general counsel if you guys had heard a clanking in the drivetrain of the subject machines (I have 3 250s and 3 325s).
The clanking is most noticeable when putting the machine under strain, such as climbing a hill or turning. All of my machines are in good condition, and I grease them regularly.
The transmission is full of AGL. The chain is not loose.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe the front sprocket is worn, and causing it to shift back and forth on the transmission shaft to 'line up' with the rear sprocket, thus producing this noise.
Or possibly, could an old o-ring chain (with non-pliable orings) cause it to do this, once the chain heats up? I would bet that the 325s have the original chains on them.
2/3 325s were doing this, then the next time out, the last 325 started doing this.
Thanks for any information.
