Look on the paperwork you got when you bought it. The Model # is what is listed in this thread. I wrote it and my Engine serial # and my frame VIN # all down in my owners manual for easy reference.
It's a bummer that we have to get it worked on but I'm glad Polaris is stepping up and will fix the problem before any serious injury's happen.

I found my paper work and it's one of the ones listed. I'm heading up the Alaska highway for a couple of weeks in October so it will be plenty cold enough. I hate the idea of someone pulling the engine apart when the quad is brand new. Sometime they just aren't all that careful.

No need to rip the motor apart this recall is just for the crankcase breather valve really not a big deal for the dealer to replace. Its a bolt on part.

Even if you live in warm climate, it sounds like a simple fix and still would be worth doing anyways.

Got my notice in the mail yesterday. I'm sure almost every sportsman XP 850 has the recall.

I got my letter yesterday also, it sounds like it will be a fairly simple installation of a crankcase breather kit, PN 2204191.

Make an appointment with your dealer to get the breather kit put on, No Charge!

My dealer is getting a stack of breathers in on August 20th, and my machine is going into the shop on August 22nd. Should be done fairly quickly so I will be waiting for it.
