I don't know about the Sportsman, but my Scrambler with the same 500 H.O. engine will do 65mph.

The Scrambler is a lot lighter, that is why it can go 65...Does the rubicon have a chain and sprocket, or is it shaft drive....the final drive will play a big part as to what the top end speed is...you either get low end power or top end speed. You can't have both. The Scrambler is chain driven so you can adjust the final drive to determin what you will get. A smaller front sprocket (fewer teeth) will giveyou more low end. The more teeth on a front sprocket the better top speed. The Sportsman does not have that option with a shaft drive. It is what it is...the rubicon might have a a higher gear ratio giving it better top end speed. that whould explain the faster speed than the Sportsman....my 2 cents

Top speed depends on alot of variables. Does the rider weigh 125 or 300 pounds? What type of surface are they on? Wind, any slope.. etc. It is not really fair to say x will go y m.p.h.

When I had my 02 400 SP I had it up to 59 mph on level pave according to the speedo & I weighed about 250 at the time. It was completely stock.
