all I can say about these "upsets" and arguments is the bike is only as fast as the person working the throttle... to a point.... If there was one guy running for time on all these different bikes that was used to a comfortable on all of them, then and ONLY then would you be able to tell which one is the fastest

I saw two brothers with Sportsmans. One was a 400 2-smoke and the other was a 500 4-stroke. I asked them which one was faster and one guy said whichever one his brother was on. It's the same for other quads too. The rider makes a difference. It's still hard to say what the fastest factory sport quad is because most people don't leave them stock.

I have a "new" to me 06 Outlaw, (cousin bought it new and when I got it a few months ago, only had about 20 hours on it, 100% stock).. flat out on the beach, my GPS recorded 70.9 mph.. that was holding it wide open for about a mile and tucked as much as I could get..
that being said, if a lighter rider was on it (240 lbs here), it might go a bit faster, who knows.

Well, from 95 to 2000 the fastest was the banshee. It was the only choice for high performance back then. Then I would say the DS650 took the crown till the 450's exploded on the market. Now I would have to say the Honda 700. Followed by the original YFZ and the Honda 450r. The other 450's are slower because they are geared for the track.
Personally Ide still take a banshee any day. Theres nothing like a 2 stroke, love emm
Wiseco pistons, toomey pipes, jet kit, hot cranks, ported and polished, bored over. I'll eat anything on that list above. Maybe except the rappy 700 efi with a stroker kit and turbo, hot cams, and high compression piston , running cam 2, 120 octane... Damn I wish I had the time and $ to build my dream quad!

If they all use the same 450 motors in there ATVs as there Motocross it would make sense KTM powered ATVs or Kawaski would be the strongest stock since they had the strongest 450 motocross motor in this shoot out. 2010 KTM 450 SX-F Comparison - Motorcycle USA
And it was the only bike still using a carb and not EFI.
The KTM is one of the fastest, most stable, and ultimately fun motocross bikes we’ve ever tested
Keep your wrist locked and where the EFI bikes are stalling out, the KTM just keeps pulling all the way to the rev limiter with class-leading top end

+1 on the "old school" carbs! I've ridden the KTM 450 SX-F just on our test track one day when I felt a little "spunky"! It reminded me real quick that at the time I was almost 62 NOT 22 years old! Now I just take the fellas at their word for em! NO MAS! OPT
