Default Tire upgrade on a XP-850 with 14" wheel's.

I'm looking for an all terrain with some mud capability to fit on my stock 14" wheel's with no rubbing. Looking at something less aggressive then the Swamplites or the Mudlites. 26" Carlisle Terrathon's on now. Thank's in advance.

Check out the ITP Terracross. I put a set on my SP 500 and like them. THey are not as agreesive as Mud Lites but they work well in mud, sand and hard packed terrain. They are radials and the ride is awesome.

I highly recomend the Terracross and I would buy these tires again.

You won't have any problem in the front, on the rear however, if you go any wider than the 10" that come stock on the XP's you will not have enough clearance between the tire and the sway bar ends without either adding spacers or bending the sway bar to make room for the extra width.

That's what I thought, not too much room in the rear for wider tires. Thank's

I went with these for my Hawk, I don't know if they are too aggresive for what you are looking for, but so far they have been a good tire and are pretty smooth on hard pack trails. Probably the best thing I could say about them is that I'm NOT sorry I bought them !!! GBC Motorsports

Those look great, down here most trails go from dry mud to wet mud. No rock's!

your you are in a muddy area, then i would suggest something more aggresive than mud lites, and those spartacus tires are, but i would suggest itp xtrs

Skychief said in his post that he was looking for somthing LESS agressive than the Mudlites. Please excuse if me you think I'm being rude, however I believe it would be polite to read the original post before you dismiss another persons sugestion as a possible match to what he might be looking for.

If you don't want an aggressive tire, but want good performance look at the BigHorns..I love them for normal trail riding and they do ok in light occasional mud..but if you ride alot of muddy trails you'd probably be alot happier with something like the XTRs..they are a little rougher on pavement at low speeds than say a BigHorn but they smooth right out as soon as you leave the pavement, not quite as smooth as the horns on the trail, but pretty close and they perform noticably better in the mud. The Horns can negotiate some decent mud..but you have to spin them pretty hard to do it,luckily they don't really dig,as long as the frame stays of the ground the Horns will keep you moving..it might be 2 mph with a wheel speed of 30 mph..on the other hand the XTRs will crawl through the same mud under lighter throttle, but if it is bad enough forward momentum stops they will start diggin pretty quick and set you on the frame..all in all the XTRs will go places in the mud the big horns will not, they are a fairly heavy tire though..everything is a compromise.
