Bighorns are probably your best bet. Terracross being next. 25" terracross fits just fine on the XP, but they run small. The bighorns usually run true to size.

Mudbug radial may also be a choice for you.

Less agressive than a mudlite is a stock tire, IMO. Everything will grip better than a mudlite, unless you are talking XTR. Then you may as well get zillas.

IMO, Maxxis makes a better all around tire than ITP. The newer ITP's may change that though. haven't heard much yet.

I totally diregarded the fact that we are talking a stock machine..like was mentioned above a true 11" tire will not fit without bending the swaybar or running spacers or aftermarket wheels. IIRC the Zillas run a little small? The only reason I would put the XTR ahead of the Zilla is because the XTR is a radial..I agree though Maxxis makes a great tire...BHs are proof of that. The ITP tires seem to be hit and miss..some have trouble with the XTRs "wobbling"..I haven't but it does seem to be a common complaint. My biggest gripe with the XTR is it's weight..but then again it is a pretty stout tire. If they made a lighter weight XTR that would be a great tire IMO.

Bighorns continue to roll nicely at 65 mph as well!

I ran XTRs on my '700 & didn't like them much. I found them to push the front end a lot on the trail, and they sucked in the snow, which I realize you won't have to deal with. I run the Bighorns on my XP & MrsBMQ runs the stock tires on hers. I have been able to get through a couple mud holes that she didn't, although that could be due in part to rider experience. I modded my rear sway bar per HighOctane's directions - thanks again HO! - rather than use spacers. MrsBMQ doesn't like the ride of my XP as it is not as easy to steer - neither one of us has PS. My XP is still considerably easier to maneuver than my 700 was - either with the XTRs or the stockers, but still not as easy to maneuver than my Griz 700 EPS with Bighorns. The overall ride quality of the XP vs the Griz is absolutely no comparison, which is why I had to buy MrsBMQ her own XP!

Default Tires

I have to agree with roofer in the Bighorns. More aggressive than stock but the lugs aren't over-the top huge so they should handle pretty well w/o being too aggressive. Good luck on whatever you decide on. Been wrestling with the same decision myself on a tire upgrade.

Whatever you buy make sure they are radials. Th ITP Terracross are radials and they are WAY smoother than the stock PXTs on and off road at all speeds.

Remeber. You pay for what you get...do not be tempted to buy the cheapest tire. I spent a little more than planned and I am very happy with the tires.
