Default Help with dead 2006 Sportsman 700?

Hi folks, new to the forum, and hoping for some help on my father in laws 700. I have various hondas, a kazuma 110 and even a 6x6 argo, and manage to keep them all going, but cant get anywhere with this beast. He dropped it off and said "its dead", so i'll see if I can help him out. No power to the starter or dash lights. Battery is hot, and I can crank it over if I hook a remote switch across the starter, but of course it won't crank that way due to no power to the ignition. From what I can gather there is a power distribution module on these which would be my 1st suspect. I have yet to find a single circuit breaker or fuse. Is there a fuse block on an 06 700? I have a pdf manual on a 2005 sportsman that mentions circuit breakers locations, but either they are well hidden on the 06 model, or non existent. I'd appreciate any help, and if anyone does happen to have a link for an 06 700 manual i'd appreciate it. I would rather he take it to a dealer at this point, but money is tight for him right now.

Fuses-try under the seat and by the steering rod. Steering rod fuses will be in black pouches. Check speedo pod wiring, could be chafed / pulled loose. Also check by rear taillight, under fender.

To save hassle , I would pull all plastics off.

I don't know if you have the carbed model or the EFI one. Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories ? BikeBandit.com shows both for 2006 700.

According to the diagram below, you have two fusible links in the harness, # 26 and 27. If you are getting voltage past them, they are fine. I see no fuse box listed.

Click the link, go OEM Parts-Polaris-2006-700-Electrical. I don't know where the fusible links are. They should be round, black cylinders in the harness.

I would check your starter solenoid first, that could be a possible cause too

May be a stupid suggestion but make sure the kill switch on the handle bar is not overlooked. Took me 10 minutes to figure it out on mine once since I never use it. The nephews clicked it to "off" when they were climbing on it.

wish it was that simple,lol..No this thing is Dead, no lights, no nothing, like the battery is dead, but when I hook a remote switch directly to the solenoid, I can spin it over fine. A few more details have emerged, he let a kid in his neighborhood ride it, and he took it through a shallow creek, so water could have blown a fuse or circuit breaker, or took out the power module. Hard to believe though, because I've rode my quads through all kinds of water without problems.

According to my test light I do have 12V at the solenoid and at the power module in the front, but thats it.
