Jack, thanks for your comments, I believe we are on the same wavelength. What started me down this trail was my top speed of 52 mph probably due mostly to the altitude of 3000+ ft. At 52 mph my motor is not spinning at its max rpm so I was thinking that if I could modify the clutch and reduce the gearing I could get the motor rpm's up more into it's power band. With a little luck increase my top speed to maybe 55-mph. You are obviously knowledgeable on the variable clutch set-up so I do appreciate your feedback.

bubba1005 thanks for the tip; I will for sure be using a torque wrench when reassembling.

At this altitude I will have to agree with Jack. I have found not much differance changing the clutch configuration. Maybe if you were to control a test with a stock comparasion you could see the differance. The only extreme performance change I could tell is getting off a pre HO and getting on the HO. But again it is at this altitude, at lower elevations where H.P is greater it might be more noticable.

I just installed a white spring yesterday(at sea level).....I notice the diff.
My torque is shot so I used a 1/4in ratchet.
I can tell you what NOT to do while changing the spring.........................................
DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE THE HAMMER OUT WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY OVER....Duhh
Snapped like a twig, and this was'nt a small hammer either
