There is a good gasket on the lid of the X2 boxes. It does feel it tight when latching.....and the QuadBoss did not come with a gasket. The local hardware store had gasket material and it worked great. If you need lots of cargo space, the QuadBoss is very roomy.

NoJoke, do the boxes link together (to each other) in any way? I was curious as to how well they would stay put with just the two expansion anchors on each side. I just sold an old GPS and have some cash and was thinking about the boxes. I got this box from Walmart: Walmart.com: Contico Storage Locker: Storage & Organization and I got a couple bungies to hold it down. I was thinking of running some aluminum from the anchor holes over to the box but it would probably still cost me $80 or so to get the right anchors and aluminum. So, I'm thinking that the boxes from Popo are the way to go.

Mornin' Moose.....they link separately. There is a short rubber bungee, bolt, washer, lock nut, plastic plug and a ring with a mounting tab. Use one ring for both bungees. I think two of the pics I posted should explain mo' better......plus a couple other pics. The plastic plug is to plug the extra hole in the cargo box. I haven't mounted the ring yet. and......the cargo box from Wal Mart looks roomy but is it able to be water or dust proof? I washed the X2 with a pressure washer and with the cargo boxes in place.....there were about 8 drops or so of water inside the boxes by the time I finished.....so it seems with normal rainy riding conditions they should stay dry inside...... Okay, that looks good. I'll mull it over for a bit and think about it. Those D-rings are not the sturdiest thing in the world. The ATP box has those for strapping things down. (In our case a box I made that holds 3-2.5 gallon jugs of gasoline.) I've replaced about 6 of them so far. I actually ended up using 2 tie down bars from an X2 in the bed of the ATP. It's a much sturdier system. Thanks, NoJoke.

Default Nice but...

this doesn't look very "second rider" friendly. :/

Polaris is out in front when it comes to accessories. If I'm not mistaken they have over 1100 items in their 2011 catalog.

Nice box.

They do, but I'm still too cheap to get the Polaris ones unless I see someone on eBay getting rid of them cheap.

This post is from way back in 2009. If you have an older X2 you might try eBay to find a box. Newer ones should be available from Polaris. Get in touch with your local dealership. They often know what is and isn't available for your machine.
